Loss is  life-changing . . .
                          So  is  recovery
  from  loss.

If you are here, chances are your life or the life of someone you care about has been  painfully affected by loss. My heart goes out to you. I'm glad you're here.

It is devastating when hope is shattered, when you realize that a dream you had will never come true.
Grief is the normal and natural response to loss, and it feels awful. For the parent in a family that is suffering with loss, grief is multiplied. You bear not only your own grief, but you also grieve for your child. When the dream you've lost is a dream for your child's future, the loss feels unbearable.

You may think your life can never feel good again. Please hear me. Y
ou and your child can feel better. And, like loss itself, recovery from loss is powerfully life-changing.

The Grief Recovery Method® heals the pain of loss.

Time will not heal your pain. Keeping busy will not make it go away.  Yet, it is possible to feel better and enjoy life again--even if you have lived with grief for a long time. The positive action steps of THE GRIEF RECOVERY METHOD®  will move you past the pain of loss to begin to  experience joy and live life fully again--perhaps even with new-found purpose.  Learn about THE GRIEF RECOVERY METHOD®.

When Children Grieve, it is heartbreaking.

When your child loses something or someone precious, you want desperately to take away the pain.
You want your grieving child to be happy and carefree again, but you wonder if that's possible. Yes, there are things you can do to  HELP YOUR CHILD DEAL WITH GRIEF. With your help  your child can grieve the loss and move beyond it to once again enjoy hope-filled days of childhood.  Learn how you can help WHEN CHILDREN GRIEVE.

Essential Messages nurture the grieving heart.

The parent of a grieving child realizes that life will never be the same again. Unhelpful myths about loss and grief are often learned at an early age and perpetuated by well-meaning adults who want to help children deal with loss. Recognizing the myths is not enough. placing those myths with ESSENTIAL MESSAGES nurtures the heart and offers hope in the midst of grief and for life beyond loss.Even after the freshness of loss is past.

Children who receive caring ESSENTIAL MESSAGES learn healthy ways of dealing with the normal and natural feelings of loss. Equipped with those skills they are better able to cope with grief experiences throughout their lives and keep hope alive in spite of loss. Learn about ESSENTIAL MESSAGES.

Hope stirs the grieving heart's Ember to Flame.

Grief without hope can leave a person stricken and depleted, feeling as if the best things in life are gone forever. The truth is, no matter how painful the heartbreak or how devastating the loss, each of us has an ember deep within that is inextinguishable. Your ember holds your individual gifts, unique talents, hopes and dreams—and it can be stirred to flame. It is possible to rediscover hopes and dreams after loss. Learn how you can stir the heart's EMBER TO FLAME.
Loss  and  heartache  do  not  define  you.
They  are  part  of  your  journey.

When Children Grieve®
Our first experiences of loss
happen when we are children—whether a pet dies, a beloved toy is lost, a friend moves away, parents divorce, or a loved one dies or becomes critically ill. Children grieve these experiences, and what they learn about grief shapes how they will cope with later losses. Michele offers the 6-week Helping Children Deal with Loss® program, as well as customized group and individual programs, to teach parents and other caring adults how to help children grieve in healthy and helpful ways. The goal is not for children simply to survive grief, but for them to thrive with it.

The Grief Recovery Method®
Grief is a normal and natural response to loss, yet many of us are overcome and stricken by it, not knowing how to recover from the pain. Contrary to what we may believe, busy-ness and time do not heal grief. It will not fade away on its own; nor is it something to be simply gotten over. But we can recover from grief by taking intentional action steps. Through the Grief Recovery Method®, either in a group setting or one-on-one,  Michele helps those who are ready to move beyond grief through some simple action steps to recovery.
